Murat Özdemir was born in Ankara, on December 1967. He studied medicine in Hacettepe University School of Medicine in Ankara between 1985 and 1991. He completed his cardiology training as a cardiologist in 1996 at Türkiye Yüksek İhtisas Hospital, one of the major cardiology training centers in Turkey. After 2 years of private practice at Sevgi Hospital in Ankara, he started his academic career at Gazi University School of Medicine, Ankara, as a lecturer in October 1998. He received the “associate professor of cardiology” degree on April 2003 and was awarded the “professor of cardiology” degree on October 2009. He still is among the faculty members of the department of Cardiology at Gazi University School of Medicine.

Dr. Özdemir published more than 60 scientific papers in international peer reviewed journals. He has participated in various national and international medical meetings as both a speaker and chairperson. He is among the 5 associate editors of the Archives of the Turkish Society of Cardiology, the society’s official journal. He also serves as one of the executive officers of the Turkish Board for Accreditation in Cardiology.

Dr. Özdemir is a member of the Turkish Society of Cardiology and The European Society of Cardiology. He has been awarded the degree of “Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology” and is about to be announced as a “Fellow of the American College of Cardiology” in March 2013.

Dr. Özdemir is among the faculty members of the department of Cardiology at Gazi University School of Medicine. He is mostly busy with teaching and research activities at working hours. He accepts his patients at his private office at off-hours and during weekends. Beyond clinical cardiology, his main topics of interest are arrhythmias, implantable cardiac devices and interventional cardiology. He has access to major private hospitals in Ankara for interventional procedures and hospitalized patient care.

In 1997, after becoming urology specialist in Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Urology, Dr. Tarkan Soygür has been trained for Pediatric Urology Postgraduate Degree – as being active and registered (license no: 025214 ML20006776, Seattle WA) - in University of Washington, Department of Urology incorporate Seattle Children’s Hospital, Pediatric Urology Clinic with Dr. Michael Mitchell for one year between the dates July 2000 and July 2001, in this period he has gained experience in diagnosis and treatment of several congenital or acquired genitourinary system abnormalities requiring advanced treatment.

Dr. Tarkan Soygür became associate professor of urology in March 27, 2003. Since then he only dealt with pediatric patients with genitor-urinary disorders.

He gained his professor degree in November 2009.

He still works as Chief of Pediatric Urology in the Department of Urology.

Dr. Tarkan Soygür has several national and international publications. 68 of them have been published in peer-reviewed journals, cited by  SCI or SCI expanded.

Tarkan Soygür ranked first in ESPU (European Society for Pediatric Urology) self-examination and Joint Committee of Pediatric Urology awarded him as Fellow of European Academy of Pediatric Urology (FEAPU)  in February 2006.

Dr. Tarkan Soygür is a member of AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) Division of Urology, ESPU (European Society for Paediatric Urology), Turkish Society for Paediatric Urology and Ankara Urology Association.

He performs secretary general duty of Turkish Society for Paediatric Urology.

Ankara Güven Hospital is one of the first private hospitals in Turkey founded in 1974 by the Küçükel Family. The hospital is centrally located in Kavaklıdere, close in proximity to several Embassies, including the British, US, French and German Embassies.
