In 1997, after becoming urology specialist in Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Urology, Dr. Tarkan Soygür has been trained for Pediatric Urology Postgraduate Degree – as being active and registered (license no: 025214 ML20006776, Seattle WA) - in University of Washington, Department of Urology incorporate Seattle Children’s Hospital, Pediatric Urology Clinic with Dr. Michael Mitchell for one year between the dates July 2000 and July 2001, in this period he has gained experience in diagnosis and treatment of several congenital or acquired genitourinary system abnormalities requiring advanced treatment.

Dr. Tarkan Soygür became associate professor of urology in March 27, 2003. Since then he only dealt with pediatric patients with genitor-urinary disorders.

He gained his professor degree in November 2009.

He still works as Chief of Pediatric Urology in the Department of Urology.

Dr. Tarkan Soygür has several national and international publications. 68 of them have been published in peer-reviewed journals, cited by  SCI or SCI expanded.

Tarkan Soygür ranked first in ESPU (European Society for Pediatric Urology) self-examination and Joint Committee of Pediatric Urology awarded him as Fellow of European Academy of Pediatric Urology (FEAPU)  in February 2006.

Dr. Tarkan Soygür is a member of AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) Division of Urology, ESPU (European Society for Paediatric Urology), Turkish Society for Paediatric Urology and Ankara Urology Association.

He performs secretary general duty of Turkish Society for Paediatric Urology.
