I’ve gained Scientist- candidate scholarship from The
Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey before
entering the university, and continued receiving this scholarship during my
education in the faculty of medicine. I graduated from Hacettepe University
School of Medicine. In the same year, I passed the Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery Residency Exam and started my residency training at Hacettepe University
School of Medicine. I passed ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign
Medical Graduates) and TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exams and
obtained certifications. I received my specialization in Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgery at Hacettepe University School of Medicine. Next month,
I was appointed as a lecturer at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine,
Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and then I was appointed to founding
head of the department. I was promoted to assistant professor with
tenure in same department. After passing the associate professorship exam, I
was promoted to associate professor with tenure in same department and later I
was promoted to professor in same department. I worked as Visiting Professor in
the USA at University of Alabama School of Medicine, Division of Plastic
Surgery (Birmingham, Alabama), Providence Hospital and Medical Centers
Institute for Craniofacial and Reconstructive Surgery (Southfield, Michigan) and University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Department of Plastic
Surgery (Dallas, Texas). Passing the Ministry of Health exam, I was appointed
to Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Haydarpaşa Numune Training
and Research Hospital. I resigned from this assignment, because I was appointed
to founding head of the department at Maltepe University Faculty of Medicine,
Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. I’ve worked at ONEP Medical Center
for Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery and American Hospital - İstanbul.
Prof Dr. Ata Uysal performs all sorts of aesthetic plastic
surgery procedures.
