BRIEF HISTORY OF DENTISTANBUL

Established in Istanbul in 2001 as a dental health center, Dentistanbul became the first private dental hospital in Turkey in 2003.

In March 2007, Dentistanbul combined its experiences and knowledge with the international experiences of Global Environment Fund, which is an American investment partnership that is interested in health and environmental issues in the entire world.

Another turning point for Dentistanbul has been November of 2010. Dentistanbul is now going faster for the development of its technical installation and service quality under the roof of Rhea Venture Capital Investment Trust. Rhea who invests on healthcare technology, clean environment and logistics has bought %100 of Dentistanbul shares as of November 2010.

In order to achieve the goal of creating an Oral and Dental Health service chain that included new hospitals and clinics in Istanbul and other cities in Turkey, Dentistanbul Kozyatağı Oral and Dental Polyclinic started providing its services on 17.10.2011. The contamination of recently increasing infectious diseases like Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C or AIDS that spread through bodily fluids and blood, occurs most commonly during dental treatments.

DENTAL PROCEDURES

Oral Diagnosis and Radiology

Cavities or gum infections are not the only oral diseases. Diseases concerning all soft tissues of the oral cavity, jawbones and junctions, salivary glands and tongue are all among the studies of dentistry. These tissues and structures though covering a small amount of space compose a complex anatomical structure.

Implantology

An implant is an artificial root placed into jaw bone to restore the function and aesthetic that is lost due to tooth loss.

Teeth are important components of facial aesthetics thus loss of teeth induces psychological and sociological problems as well as difficulties in digestion, mastication and phonation.

Tooth loss can be restored with implant supported prosthetics as well as conventional systems like fixed prosthetics or removable dentures.

Prosthodontics

Nutrition is our life long basic necessity and we fulfill this need through a proper diet and mastication. Our teeth are essential for the mastication process. Aging affects our teeth and gums just like any part of our body and eventually tooth loss can occur. Tooth loss can be treated with various types of prosthetics, depending on the severity.

Periodontology

Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease, characterized by the destruction of teeth and structures supporting them (periodontal ligaments, cementum, and alveolar bone). The disease involves inflammation of the gum followed by the progressive loss of alveolar bone. Periodontitis is caused by bacterial plaque and it can be treated mechanically. But genetic, environmental and systemic factors can affect the development of periodontal diseases. These systemic factors may involve diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, epilepsy, Down syndrome, AIDS, and hematologic diseases.

Endodontics

Endodontic therapy brings to mind the root canal treatment. The most feared treatment among dental treatments is usually the root canal therapy. Today, root canal therapy is virtually painless and is completed in vital teeth in one session and in devitalized teeth it is completed usually in two sessions.

Pedodontics

All the required dental treatments are applied to children by pedodontists. Excellent dental health of children can be accomplished by regular dental follow-ups in every 6 months. Every potential dental problem can be detected during these follow-ups. Early diagnosis and treatment are of great importance since they play a positive role in both the physical and emotional development of the infant patient.

Orthodontics

Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that aims to prevent dental and maxillofacial irregularities, and focuses on intercepting the progress of any existent ones and treat them along with creating better esthetics and function (mastication, phonation etc.).

Oral Surgery

Oral surgery focuses on pathologies such as cysts and tumors related to teeth and oral cavity, tooth and jaw fractures, extractions or orthodontic movement of impacted teeth, modifications of soft and hard tissues of oral cavity for prosthetic purposes. Pain in maxillo-facial area, temporomandibular joint disorders and salivary gland diseases are included in oral surgery practice. Determining oral symptoms of particular systemic diseases and their treatments are also within the context of oral surgery practice.

Aesthetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry aims to design natural looking and tasteful teeth that are consistent with an individual's face.

Artificial teeth with exaggerated form and color can be recognized easily even by an amateur eye. Therefore, a delicate preparation and planning phase is necessary in cosmetic dentistry.

General Anesthesia and Sedation

Along with a ten bed capacity, we have a fully equipped operation room in our hospital where we perform both surgical procedures with general anesthesia or sedation (tooth extraction, gingival treatments, implant procedures, bone cyst operations, bone graft operations etc.) and nonsurgical treatments (fillings, root canal treatment, etc.).
