Dr. Hamdi Koçer was born in
İstanbul in 1962. He completed his secondary and high school education in
Kadıköy Maarif College. He was graduated from İstanbul University, Faculty of
Medicine in 1986. He gained his expertise in general surgery after finishing
his post-graduate degree again in İstanbul University, Faculty of Medicine in
between 1986-1991.
After finishing his
post-graduate studies, he participated in the first transplant operations and
worked in the establishment process of Haydarpaşa Numune Education and Research
Hospital, Organ Transplantation Center. After his military service in 1993, he
was transferred to Kartal Lütfi Kırdar Education and Research Hospital. In this
period, he has worked in Paris Paul Brousse Hospital, Liver and Biliary Tract
Surgery Clinic and later for one year in Frederich Alexander University, General
Surgery Clinic in Erlangen-Nuremberg City of Germany.
He resigned his position in
the Ministry of Health in 1998 and since then he started to work in Istanbul
Surgery Hospital. He has worked in Istanbul Surgery hospital during 10 years
since its foundation until 2007. Here, he had the opportunity to study some
specific fields of general surgery including particularly laparoscopic surgery
and breast cancer surgery.
Dr. Hamdi Koçer after
transferring to Fulya Jinemed Hospital serving in the same area with Istanbul
Surgery Hospital worked as a general surgeon in between 2007-2011 and during
this period he focused especially on laparoscopic abdominal wall hernia
surgery.
Dr. Hamdi Koçer resigned his
duty in Jinemed Hospital and took up position in NEOLIFE Medical Center, since
then he continues his practices in this cancer diagnosis and treatment clinic.
During the last two years, he has been working in NEOLIFE as well as in Baku,
Azerbaijan.
Dr. Hamdi Koçer performed
studies of breast cancer in our brother country Azerbaijan; He took part in the
establishment of Women’s Health and Breast Cancer Center in Baku. In between
2011-2013, he has regularly seen and operated breast cancer patients twice a
month in Baku.
Dr. Hamdi Koçer concentrates
on all fields of general surgery including laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy and
cancer surgery. During the last two years Dr. Hamdi Koçer focuses particularly
on abdominal wall hernia and breast cancer treatments.
Dr. Hamdi Koçer sees his
patients each afternoon in NEOLIFE Medical Center, and performs his surgeries
at contracted hospitals; VKV American Hospital, Istanbul Surgery Hospital and
Jinemed Hospital.
Dr. Hamdi Koçer is married
with one 8 year-old daughter.
